Link Checker
Our solution to maintain referential integrity of hyperlinks is presently
pending a patent. The first commercial version of this product was integrated with one of our Content Managed Web Solutions
during 2003. We plan to develop further stand alone versions in the near future. Due to possible patent infringement we can only offer very
brief details on this work at present.
The product will maintain the integrity of internal and external hyperlinks
resulting in no broken links on a site. The outcome provides three benefits.
1. No broken links on the site.
2. Any inbound traffic attempting to reach a page that has been altered,
deleted or moved is redirected to new relevant content.
3. In the event that a referred page on an external site has ceased to
exist and the system has been unable to correct the broken link the viewer
is offered a drop down menu of alternative page links where the previous
link was placed such that they are directed to relevant content.
Content Manager
Furthermore, we believe that no page should be orphaned. Indeed why should
the web not mimic life, whereby an "orphaned child" is looked
after by a relative or other caring person. We will therefore enhance
our link checker with a content management suite, which we will develop
in XML, this will enable a site to be fragmented not only into hierarchical
pages but to presentation, material, structural components and links.
Whilst these component parts are used to compile any page only the material
need to retained as a past reference archive. Within material we have
Directories, Headings, Paragraphs, images, etc., all can be stored and
recalled on any page by referential linking.
